BCWF Statement on COVID-19

March 12, 2020

Surrey, B.C. –

The BCWF Statement on Covid-19: We are carefully monitoring the situation with the COVID-19 virus in B.C. At this time, we have no plans to cancel our upcoming Annual General Meeting and Convention in Nanaimo from April 1-4, 2020.

The BCWF executive is meeting on Monday, March 16, 2020 to discuss any protocols that may need to be put in place to ensure the safety of all attending.   There has been one case of the virus on Vancouver Island, but the situation is currently low-risk.

The safety of our members and delegates is essential to the BCWF.   We acknowledge that the World Health Organization (WHO) has declared the virus a pandemic however in BC there is no change to our current protocols.  Should public health officials determine that risk levels for public gatherings are too high, we will inform speakers, members and delegates of any changes to plans for the BCWF AGM and convention.

We will keep you posted.
