B.C. Wildlife Federation leaders meet with Minister of Indigenous Relations and Reconciliation

On June 15, the B.C. Wildlife Federation, represented by Chuck Zuckerman, President of the B.C. Wildlife Federation, Rob Chipman, Chair of BCWF Indigenous Relations Committee, and Jesse Zeman, BCWF Director of Fish and Wildlife Restoration, met with the Honourable Murray Rankin, Minister of Indigenous Relations and Reconciliation.

Honourable Murray Rankin, Minister of Indigenous Relations and Reconciliation

The BCWF leaders offered solutions, emphasizing working collaboratively with First Nations to restore government funding to protect our dwindling fish and wildlife populations.

Specifically, the BCWF and Minister Rankin discussed reconciliation through conservation. The BCWF is working hard with governments to strengthen the B.C. Wildlife Federation’s relationship with First Nations by restoring fish and wildlife populations together. The BCWF hopes that working together for conservation will enhance our relationships and help avoid conflict over public access.

The message was extremely well-received. The Honourable Murray Rankin seems to have a keen interest in the sustainability of fish, wildlife and habitat, and working collaboratively with the B.C. Wildlife Federation. We agreed to keep in close contact and work together on relationship building and restoring our fish and wildlife.
