Response to Forest Renewal Policy Initiative

The B.C. government is seeking ideas on how to create or change current policies (including legislation and regulation), programs, tools, guidance and advance partnerships to support a vibrant, diverse forest sector for B.C.’s Interior.

The BC Wildlife Federation, Forestry Committee Chair Doug Janz and Wildlife Allocations Committee Chair Gerry Paille have submitted a response to this engagement process.

This submission addresses the objective of sustainable forest management in the policy areas:
• Climate Change and Forest Carbon
• Reconciliation with Indigenous Communities
• Fibre Sustainability of Timber and Non-timber Forest Values
