BCWF Responses to Handgun Sales Freeze and Assault Weapons Buyback

Ottawa’s so-called assault weapon buyback scheme ignores gun-carrying violent criminals by focusing on confiscating the property of law-abiding gun owners, and the government wants to divert the resources of the RCMP to carry out its plan.

The federal government’s freeze on the sale and transfer of legally owned handguns similarly ignores the fact that these firearms are not a threat to public safety.
