The provincial government has opened the Angling, Hunting and Trapping Engagement Website to solicit feedback on hunting and trapping regulation proposals for the 2026–2028 hunting and trapping seasons. It is vital that we provide feedback on proposals that we support and oppose.
BCWF supports:
-
Changing a number of Limited Entry Hunts for moose to General Open Season in parts of Region 7B
-
Changing Caribou hunts from closed to Limited Entry Hunt (LEH) in Region 7B
BCWF opposes:
-
Changing the Teslin Lake moose hunt from General Open Season to Limited Entry Hunt
-
Discontinuation of the print version of the hunting and trapping regulations
There are a number of other proposals that we encourage you to review and provide feedback on. The proposals can be accessed through the provincial government website, and the deadline for comments is February 13, 2026.
Users may view proposals without logging in. However, a BCeID Basic account is required to submit comments. If you currently have a business or personal BCeID account, you will not be able to access the feedback forms and will need to register for a Basic account.
