Featuring

Keynote Speakers: Jen Shears & Christine Everett

Jen Shears is from Newfoundland and is an avid hunter, commercial fisherman, seal harvester, conservationist, activist, blogger, and business owner. She is an outspoken advocate of hunting and fishing, is passionate about getting women and children outdoors, and is a staunch believer in the power of positive messaging. Jen is thrilled to be back in British Columbia, where she has done some incredible hunts, met a lot of good friends, and made lifelong memories. She is honoured to be speaking at the BCWF AGM, as it’s an organization she believes in and has supported for several years.

Christine Everett grew up in Ontario in a hunting family, but never hunted by herself until her late 20s. After a year of significant personal life changes, including the breakdown of her marriage and being locked in her office during the Parliament Hill shooting, she reconnected with nature while on a hunt with her dad. Since then, she started working for the lead Member of Parliament on hunting, fishing and firearms policy, has hunted many species of game across Canada, fished the beautiful waters along the B.C. coast and has become a vocal advocate for the outdoors industry.  Early in 2023, she was honoured to come on board with Weatherby to be their Pro-Staff in Canada. Her goal has always been to encourage other women and younger generations to get involved in the outdoors. She is honoured to speak at BCWF’s AGM and meet the amazing people who support the work that BCWF does in conservation and protecting our way of life.
