Play and learn in outdoor wild spaces
Registration for Wild Kidz 2021 will open in winter… stay tuned!
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, all Wild Kidz 2021 camps will be held in the Lower Mainland to best protect our B.C. communities. Thank you for understanding and we hope to return to other communities around the province as soon as we are able!
Learn how to make a shelter, build a fire and navigate through the wilderness! Wild Kidz is designed for children and youth ages 8 to 17 to learn outdoor skills, wilderness safety and about their community’s wild spaces in a fun, safe environment.
Children participate in many outdoor activities such as shelter-building, fire-building, orienteering (compass work), and outdoor education (e.g. Bear-Aware and Hug-a-Tree programs) combined with a small science curriculum.
There are a range of activities provided, from visiting local ecological attractions – like provincial or national parks – to BCWF members providing programs or demonstrations of their outdoor-related talents. Each camp is programmed around the host community’s attractions and resources, making every camp a unique experience.
